The Best Wedding Shoes
The shoes you wear on your wedding day should reflect the style and color scheme you've chosen for your ceremony. Some brides may like their shoes to match their dress color, especially if the ceremony is a traditional one. Other brides may go the complete opposite route and choose wedding shoes that are especially non-traditional. Some of these non-traditional shoe styles can include colored wedding shoes and flip flops or sandals worn underneath the long wedding dress. The style of shoe you choose to wear is entirely up to you and will depend on whether you want a traditional wedding or not.
The budget of the wedding ceremony itself will also have an effect on the style of wedding shoe chosen. Designer brand shoes are very costly and though they are the height of fashion, they may not be very comfortable or even be of good enough quality. Wedding shoes should be comfortable and allow the bride to stand in one spot for long lengths of time without causing pain. Pain will eventually show on a bride's face, and that's not what's wanted on her wedding day and not what she wants in her bridal photos.
Many brides are on their feet, in their wedding shoes for many hours on end. These shoes must be very comfortable or the strain will affect the bride's mood and show on her face. Having high heels will give you that illusion of having a bit more height, but make sure that this advantage is worth the cost of potentially sore feet. Many high heel shoes are only comfortable when worn for short periods of time. Hours and hours spent at your wedding ceremony and reception will make your feet sore if you wear uncomfortable shoes.
You have to decide before you buy your wedding shoes, if you want style or comfort because it may come down to choosing one or the other when you choose between shoe styles. You'll never be sorry that you chose a comfortable pair of shoes and besides, they'll be hidden under your dress most of the time anyway. It's your wedding day and you should be able to choose to wear whatever type and style of shoe you like. Just remember to factor in the hours and hours that you'll be standing around in them. Walking in these shoes is another matter all together. If you're not used to wearing high heels in your daily life, perhaps wearing them on your wedding day may not be the best plan.
